God likes to take men through a process
A journey with divinity that leads to a glorious end
Hear now the tale of Jesus and his process with God
The so-called king born in a Manger
With parents who had no royal blood

Jesus had few necks bowing to him
And the ladies who should curtsy
Were in tears wailing their dead babies
Against royal protocol - His name was announced before his birth
Rather than after
No town criers announced his birth
And no easel displayed his birth
His palace was an inn
Prince George of England received 62-gun salutes
Jesus had the guns of Herod seeking his life
While English royal-babies are adorned with traditional clothing of royals-past
Jesus had no royal clothes
His paparazzi were shepherds of low privilege
And was on exile in no time after his birth
But at least a respected prophetess graced his christening😀
There was no royal show for this new born King

He was suppose to grow up as a prince
And get an education befitting a king-in-waiting
Rather, he trained as an apprentice Carpenter under his father
It beggars belief that such a man could ever ascend a throne
Even Mary would have doubted the prophesy of royalty
But maybe time will tell...
In time! After his 30th birthday and a 'Baptism'
He gathered a following and....

He became the master of a mixed bag of men
Forming an army that was a joke; a band of fishermen and...
A once possessed woman (Mary of Magdala)
A political activist (Simon the zealot)
A controversial tax collector (Matthew)
Two selfish brothers (James and John)
A thief and a host of others lay folks
How was He suppose to ascend a throne with such an army?
These folks were uneducated and out-of-touch with politics
They could not string out a coup neither did they have the acumen to start a political uprising
Yet!
Against the run of play - Jesus remained faithful to God
Gracefully training the bunch of uneducated folks
Submitting Himself to his calling - the gruesome death of a thief
And though death seemed like a curtain closed on His life
God tore the curtain wide
And ushered in a new Kingdom
With Jesus at the helm of affairs
And a throne beyond the hands of democracy or aristocracy

Starting with the 12 disciples
This kingdom increased in numbers - 12 to 72 to 120
And today more than 2.4 billion people claim association with this kingdom
Jesus became a King and made kings out of these folks
In hindsight - this army of lay-folks by God's process have
Pushed for responsible marriages and homes
Championed the opposition and end of gladiatorial combats
Campaigned for the abolition of slavery and child labours
Birthed the rise of modern science with innumerable scientific discoveries
Instituted several prestigious universities including Oxford and Harvard
And driven for universal education
They popularised the institution and constitution of democracy
Fuelled Christian aid/charities most notably the Red Cross
Drove many more great feats including nursing, debt relief, peace-making projects
Giving hope to this world - a hope that doesn't disappoints
What a army! An army of lay-folks!
And till date - this king still lives....more than 20 centuries and counting
He is still making lay folks kings
To follow Him and His process with God
Jesus fulfilled His kingship dream
In God’s time, by God’s method, via God’s process
Follow God's process for your life!
