God likes to take men through a process
A journey with Him that leads to a glorious end
Hear now the tale of David and his process with God
He was a diamond in the rough as a young boy
A responsible bloke who found God at an early age
God anointed Him to be King and then the process began..
David had secret victories in battles without glory-cries from the masses

And out-of-nowhere God shone his spotlight on David
David won the greatest single combat in history (Against Goliath)
His name was exalted and his cheerleaders were innumerable (1 Sam. 18:7)
All Israel chanted his Name…..Maximus! Sorry David! David! David!

In the midst of all these,
God continued His process with him
Despite his exploits - He suddenly became a nomad
His name on a wanted list - a criminal to the crown
He wandered like a lost soul in the wilderness for years

But the wilderness was his place of transformation
For outside the radar of men, he became
The governor to warriors (1 Chronicles 12:1 NIV)
Prime minister to the distressed (1 Sam. 22:2 KJV)
Lord of the debtors (1 Sam. 22:2 AMP)
Judge to the discontented (1 Sam. 22:2 NLT)
David became the King of vagrants and losers (1 Sam. 22:1-2 MSG)
It was in this fold that he found purpose - and excelled
And as he prospered as the King of vagrants and losers
Still faithful to God….

God increased his army from 400 to 600 (1 Sam 22:2;30:9-10)
And afterwards to more than 300,000 (1 Chron. 12)
Eventually… in God’s time -
Following God’s process - without a civil war
Without a campaign and political promises

David became the King of Judah (2 Sam. 2:4)
And later the King of both Israel & Judah (2 Sam. 5:1-5)
Eventually fulfilling God's purpose
In God's way at God's time
Follow God’s process for your life....
